Quebec’s English School Boards Hold Joint Career Fair to Address Staffing Needs
Quebec’s English school boards will hold their second annual joint in-person Career Fair on Saturday, May 2 (10:00 am to 2:30 pm) at the Centre Mont-Royal (2200 Mansfield) in Montreal. The event comes at a time when school systems across Quebec are actively working to recruit and retain teachers, support staff, and professional personnel.

EMSB recognizes Volunteers of Distinction and presents Lifetime Achievement and Alumni Recognition Awards
On the occasion of National Volunteer Week April 19 to 25, the English Montreal School Board held a special reception and ceremony to honor three Volunteers of Distinction. In addition, a Lifetime Achievement and a Alumni Recognition Certificate Awards were presented.

Minister of Health Visits
Liberal MP for Papineau and Federal Minister of Health Marjorie Michel visited the four EMSB schools in her constituency: Sinclair Laird and St. Raphael in Park Extension and John F. Kennedy High School and Adult Education Centre in St. Michel. She toured the facilities and spoke to staff.

Emma Nonnenmacher, a forward with the French Women’s National Ice Hockey Team and a student-athlete with the Concordia Stingers, recently visited Grade 3 students at FACE Elementary School to share her Olympic journey.

Bill 21 in the Supreme Court of Canada: EMSB defends the constitutional rights of official language minorities and women
The English Montreal School Board made representations on the unconstitutional nature of Québec’s Bill 21, An Act Respecting the Laicity of the State, before the Supreme Court of Canada. The EMSB’s submissions focused on minority language education rights and gender equality.
